Click on any of the Photos to see its large version... These are photographs of Surfers in Scarboroughs South Bay. They were taken near high tide on the 17th February 2007. The light was fading quickly, so most of the photographs were taken with exposures around 1/300 - 1/500 th of a second. The effective film speed had to be boosted up to 800 ISO, thank goodness for Image Stabilisation lenses! as these were all taken at around a 350mm lens zoom setting. Surfers in Scarborough. These are photographs of Surfers in Scarboroughs South Bay. Numbers 1-29 were taken near high tide on the 17th February 2007, 30-33 were taken on 19th March in some rough seas, just as the sun was setting (around 5pm). Surfing (surfboarding) is popular along this stretch of the North Eastern England Coastline, with a number of key areas such as Cayton Bay (inc the Point and Pump), Scarborough North Bay and South Bay. The 2 Scarborough Bays are generally more appropriate for beginner and newer surfers. |
